The Journey to the 2028 Olympics: Sina Nejadbahram’s Rowing Story

Sina Nejadbahram, a dedicated athlete, is a rower for the UCLA Men’s Rowing Team. With relentless determination and countless hours of training, he is on the verge of breaking the sub-six barrier. His first 1K shows remarkable improvement, clocking in at 3 minutes, and his 2K time stands at 6 minutes and 20 seconds—a testament to his hard work and perseverance.

Sina’s daily routine was a rigorous testament to his dedication. He trained for more than 6 hours each day, starting with a 2-3 mile run before 5 AM. After his morning run, he practiced with the UCLA rowing team members for about 1 to 1.5 hours every weekdays. Following this, he would head to the West LA Athletics gym for his CrossFit sessions. After that he returning home for a protein-rich meal and lunch break, he went back to West LA Athletics to train on the rowing machine for nearly 2 hours daily. He then rested until 5 PM, before heading back to the UCLA campus for evening training sessions that lasted at least 1.5 hours each day.

However, in early December 2024, Sina suffered an injury that temporarily put his training on hold. For two months, he battled through pain, seeking treatments, and consulting numerous doctors without finding relief. That was until he met Dr. Watkins, one of the top specialists for athletes in Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica.

On January 28, 2025, Sina underwent surgery at Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital, performed by Dr. Watkins and Dr. Shawn. Thanks to God and Jesus, the procedure was successful, and he is now home, focusing on recovery. He will need several weeks before he can return to full training, but his resilience and faith remain strong.

Let’s see what God’s plan holds for him. Wishing everyone health, happiness, and strength in their own journeys.

Sina says: “Injuries are also part of the plan. You think you are losing everything. During recovery, I always struggled with myself—can I come back? Can I do this? Can I do that? Your mind will take you into the deep and dark places of depression, and there is only one thing you can do: TRUST GOD’S PLAN. Be faithful and believe in Him. Jesus will show a tiny light so you will see you are on the track, and you will come back. You will find the way again. So just keep banging on. (JKBO)”

“God Bless America. I’ll do my best to come back for UCLA and California, and it will be my pride to represent the US Flag at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.”
